Hart-Beat

The duo Hart-Beat

Basera and Navota,  play instruments from various corners of the world

Basera was born in England, where he was the drummer of a cover band that signed a recording contract. He has lived in India and America where he got to know various music styles. He plays Jambe various drums, but also the tongue drum with its beautiful soothing sounds and various percussion instruments.

The music that heart-beat plays is intuitive. During practice, we look at which instruments fit best together. During the performance, the interplay of these instruments is formed into a repertoire that is unique and every time  in the moment .

The name Hart-beat also refers to this, we play from our heart and there is always a beat that directs or follows the flute playing, because Basera comes from England, the word Beat was chosen instead of stroke and heart in Dutch.

Navota plays various wind instruments fujara, kaval, Indian flutes, melodica and tongue drum. She creates her own backing tracks with guitar keyboard and a range of other percussion instruments, her music and that of hart-beat can be found on Youtube

For years she had a practice room with a beautiful echo in the former Church of Our Lady in Vlissingen. . To capture the sound of the echo, she made recordings that can be listened to on her website.

Hart-beat's performances are both relaxing and swinging and surprisingly different every time.

They regularly practice in the Mediterranean garden and try out what combinations can be made with the different instruments they play. They also perform there during the open days.  Visite the website
